Hey Grant. I filed a report today and the site was very intuitive and easy to use. Great job there. A couple notes about the manuals- Where are the illustrations? And on the covers, it’s hard to tell which is which. I think the subtitles “public transit” and “sidewalks and walkways” need to be much more prominent. Also, when I click on the Public Transit manual, it opens the “sidewalks/walkways” one. I’m also wondering, since you only have 3 sections, if you can add a “Courtesy Manuals” button to every page (the other 2 are already accessible from every page), so you don’t have to keep navigating back to the home page.
Jessica, thanks for filing a report, and also thank you for the comments. The link was showing the same manual because I accidentally linked them both to the same file… The first 3 illustrations are finished and in the manual, the rest I’m getting by friday. The sidewalk manual will not be illustrated because I cannot afford it, though I may go back later and illustrate it myself.
I took your advice and added a “manuals button” to the bottom of every page, I didn’t know where else to put it because it would have thrown off the balance of the rest of the page. I also took your advice about making the subtitles a bit bigger, though maybe not as big as you want them… I kind of like them smaller, maybe I can have some text above them on the website to designate them better.
hi there. i can’t seem to view your manuals at the moment-perhaps you’re working on them/the site as we speak. not sure. but the illustrations look pretty nice. and i’m glad to see you’re doing a sidewalk rules book, i think some of my most stressful “public” moments occur on the ny sidewalks. (i also filed a report.) excited to see more.
